		<description>Nice post on this.  I wasn&#039;t aware of the earlier history of vanity publishing and how it came to be called that.  I was on the phone with my brother earlier talking about how weird it is that people respect &quot;indie filmmakers&quot; and &quot;indie bands&quot; but if you&#039;re an &quot;indie author&quot; there is a bad connotation about it.  Like...you must either suck, or else you must be a sucker (who falls for vanity publishing scams)</description>
